  2. DFBFSW Requirements

  3. Initialization FSW Initialization of DFB DCB configures the DFB after it is powered up/reset/fails checksum. (No non-volatile storage on DFB). Stored on DCB for DFB EEPROM - Configuration register values - DFB Mode tables - Sidecar ASIC Firmware 2. RAM - DFB Telemetry Buffers DFB entries in DCB EEPROM DFB entries in DCB SRAM

  4. Initialization • After power-on, wait at least 500ms to allow the DFB power on reset signal to expire. • Issue Reset Message. • Configure FPGA registers using Block Write Messages. • Only registers that require a value other than their reset (default) value need to be programmed. • Write the SIDECAR ASIC Firmware to the DFB using block write messages. • Configure DFB Mode tables using one or more block Write messages. • Issue an DFB Model Message to start operations.

  5. Processing Processing • Send sample clock and spacecraft clock once per second to update DFB time registers. • Reset the DFB when commanded from ground or DCB fault management. • Start the DFB sequencer after a reset command is issued or to change the current orbital mode of the DFB sequencer. • No DFB mode commands less than 400ms before the next F0 command (1PPC).   • DFB mode commands should occur near the beginning of the 0.87s cycle.  • Read Data from the DFB based on selected address • Block data writes to A and B channels. • Telemetry Collection

  6. Data Products • Waveform Packets Lossless data compression • High Speed Burst Memory Packets may be enabled (per ICD) • Housekeeping Packet • Spectra Data Packet - generated in Active and Passive sub-modes. Compression is not supported on this packet since the values are already compressed using the pseudo-log value compression. • Read Response Packet • DFB puts into “leaky buckets” – Survey, Archive 1, Archive 2, Archive 3 • DCB FSW decides survey buffer (real time) or Flash (stored data) based on APID of incoming packet from DFB.

  7. Issues Issues TBD • TBD
