Presented by DG to Council CERN celebrates its 60th anniversary on Monday 29 September 2014, and plans to mark the occasion with a series of events in the CERN Member States, leading to a high-profile event at CERN on the date of the anniversary itself. The major physics conference of the year, ICHEP 2014 will be held in Valencia, Spain, in July, offering another opportunity for communication activities, building on the successful media and outreach programme of ICHEP 2012 in Melbourne.

  3. Ideas under consideration • A beam line for schools – competition to be launched in 2013. See ChristophRembser’s presentation. • Touring exhibition based on the format being prepared for Brussels. • Linking to national science festivals. • FameLab CERN – if Cheltenham agrees. • TEDxCERN – if first one a success. • One day in science. • The main event – distributed.
