Il n’y a pas devélo. There is a bike. There isn’t a bike. Ex. J’ai des amis. Je n’aipasd’amis! I have some friends. I don’t have any friends.

Paul is a neighbor. Paul is not neighbor. 2.Ce sontdesvoitures. Ce ne sontpas des voitures. Those are some cars. Those are not (any) cars. PAS De for all, Except after est & sont!

  19. When do you use “LE, LA or LES”? • When you are talking about a noun(s) in a general sense or if you like/don’t like something. Ex. J’aime le café. (I like coffee) Ex. Les sports sont super! (Sports are great) • When you talk about days of the week in the plural. Ex. Le samedi, je joue au foot. (Saturdays, I play soccer)

Il y a ___ livresici. 4. J’aime ___ livres. 5. C’est ___livre. 6. Cen’est pas __livre. 7. Il n’y a pas ___ livresici. 8. Oùsont ___ livres? (the) Remember: “Il y a” means: “There is/are” “Il n’y a pas”: means “There is/aren’t”. This expression uses Un, une or des if positive. It uses DE if negative: Pas de!
