  2. An Ideal Muslimah / Muslim

  3. The most important quality of an ideal Muslim is: HONESTY

  4. What is honesty? • Honesty is telling what really happened. • Honesty is telling the truth

  5. Think about it….. • Are you honest? • Lets take the test………

  6. Self Honesty • On the way to school, you find a wallet with money in it.

  7. What do you do? • You bring it to school and turn it in at the office. • You keep the wallet. • You give it to a friend who wants money to buy pizza lunch. • If you chose #1, then you demonstrated honesty and responsibility.

  8. So, what is self honesty? • It, simply, means not lying to yourself. • You are being honest to your self if: • Explain the real reason you didn't turn in your homework • Write a report in your own words instead of copying • Keep your eyes on your own paper and not cheat from others. • Clean up your room after making a promise.

  9. What is honesty towards others ? • Honesty with others is telling the truth to others. • Accept responsibility for your own actions; don't blame others.

  10. Honesty towards others. A bunch of your friends are spreading rumors about the new girl at school.

  11. What do you do ? • Join in. • Make friends with the new girl and start rumors about your other friends. • Let them know that what they are doing is dishonest and hurtful. • If you chose #3 you demonstrated honesty, empathy, caring

  12. What is honesty in your words? • Honesty in words implies telling the truth in all situations and under all circumstances. • It also implies fulfilling the promises, whether written or given verbally, in text and spirit. • Honesty also implies giving an honest opinion and the right advice to the one who asks for it.

  13. Verses in Quran which emphasize on speaking the truth.

  14. Lying can cause you a lot of trouble • Lying is against our Islamic beliefs. • We hurt others when we lie. • Other people will hesitate to believe us if they know we have lied

  15. Lying is also a sign of hypocrisy • Our Beloved Prophet Muhammed (SAW) said: “ The signs of a hypocrite are three : when he speaks, he is false, when he promises , he fails; and when he is trusted , he plays false”.

  16. Your mom comes home with a new look and asks you what you think of it.

  17. What You Might Be Thinking • You think that her new look is awful and does not look good on her. • You know that “honesty is the best policy” and that lying is not right. • You also know that you don’t want to hurt your mom’s feelings. • So, what do you say?

  18. In cases where total honesty can hurt someone’s feelings, we find a way to respond honestly and caringly. • PLUS

  19. You may say • “Mom, that’s a very unique look.” • “Mom, that’s different. I think it may take some time to grow on me.” • “Mom, you are very creative! I am sure that you are the only mom with that look in the whole neighbourhood.”

  20. What is Honesty in Actions? Narrated Umar bin Al Khattab I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say ,” Actions are (judged) by motives ( niyyah), so each man will have what he intended. Thus, he whose migration was to Allah and His Messenger, his migration is to Allah and His Messenger, but he whose migration was for some worldly thing he might gain , his migration is to that for which he migrated.” {Al Bukhari and Muslim}

  21. How honest are you? Do you read your Salah to seek Allah(SWT) blessing? or Do you read the Salah Because the teachers are forcing you to pray. • The call for Zuhr prayer is being given

  22. What are the Sources of Bad conduct? • Sources of all bad conduct is shaitan and we should always seek refuge of Allah from shaitan. • Seek repentence (Astagfar) , before the time run out…

  23. Four promises made by Shaitan to Allah(SWT). • “I will lead them astray by making this earth a more appealing place.” • “I will make them give in to false passions and desires.”(makes dunya the purpose of the our life that we will not even have time to think about the purpose of our life). • I will command them, whereby they shall slit the ears of cattle, • I will command them, whereby they shall alter the creation of Allah.”

  24. Allah (SWT) said of him,”“…the best example to follow…”. He was: Our Beloved Prophet Muhammed (Sallaluhuallayiwasalam) He was the last of the prophets , sent to mankind. …. …. Muhammad Adam Noah Abraham Moses Jesus
