  1. Nell’80-90% dei pazienti affetti da GIST si trova una mutazione a livello di due possibili geni Mast/stem cell growth factor receptor KIT o Platelet-derived Growth Factor Receptor Alpha (PDGFRA).. Si tratta di geni che codificano per recettori di membrana tirosin-chinasici. La mutazione ricorre più frequentemente negli esoni che costituiscono il dominio intracellulare. CONTROLLO INTERNO È stato sequenziato RNA da cellule tumorali di un paziente affetto da Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor (GIST). Il paziente sequenziato come controllo interno è già noto per avere una mutazione nell’esone 18 del gene PDGRFA.
