  1. About Media Chat: • MEDIA CHAT ’10 is a platform for aspiring fire band journalists, advertising & PR practitioners, budding filmmakers to assemble & unleash their creative potential. The BMM students of MD college by hosting MEDIA CHAT ’10 an inter college event aim to achieve the same.

  2. Event Scheduled on: • 1st Day: 12th January 2010 • 2nd Day: 13th January 2010 • 3rd Day: 14th January 2010

  3. 1st Day: 12th January 2010 • Seminar: • An event on discussion & conclusion on current topics related to journalism & advertising. • Topics: 1) Ethics Vs TRP. • 2) Censorship in Advertising. • 3) After 26/ 11 where is the media. • 4) Film Appreciation. • Quiz • Photography Event: Theme :college days • Enhance your visualization skills relating to nature, people, etc. through your cameras. • 4 photos compulsory • Submission till 10th January 2010 • Format JPEG • Submission in 2 CD’s • Elimination on the basis of entries • Individual participation • 3 participants per contingents

  4. 2nd Day : 13th January 2010 • Car Show: • ‘OLD IS GOLD’ presenting to you the prestigious vintage cars as well as the road runners sports cars. • Display of sports, audio & classics. • Ad Campaign: • Visualizations bring light to foresights in present world. Jot down your visualizations to create unexpected ad campaigns. • No of participants : 2 • No. of teams : min 1 max 3 • Copy is mandatory • Complete sketching 3 prints ads in 45 mins. • Participation has to make an ad campaign i.e 3 print ads on a particular product. • Product will be given on the spot. • Stationary will be provided e.g. paper, pencil, colors etc.

Ad Dumb Shiraz: • Ads running in your mind, time to put across your acting skills to show off the ads given. • No of participants : 3 • No. of teams : 2 • Single of an Ad will be given or Mascot will be given to participant that participant has to act and other 2 participant should recognize the product. • Prompting of a product by the actor will lead to negative marking. • Another team prompting may lead to disqualification of that team. • Wrong answer will lead to negative marking. • Participants will be judged on the basis of Acting & the way they recognized the product.

  6. Live Reporting: • Floods, celebrities, events, showcase your skills; how good you are as a correspondent. • No of participants :2 • No. of teams : 2 • An incident or event will be given for coverage where 1 participant should cover the event as reporter, interview of people in surrounding & 2nd participant should be cameraman. • Any misbehavior in crowd will lead to negative marking. • Any harm to technology may lead to disqualification of contingent and have to pay the amount of damage.

  7. Film Screening: • Let your imaginations fly a short 10 minutes ride to the world you imagine. • Short Films: • No of participants :3 • No. of teams : 2 • Film should be of minimum 8 minutes, maximum 12 minutes. • Buffer 3 minutes • Exceeding 12 mins lead to negative marking • Less than 8 mins will lead to negative marking • Exceeding buffer time film will lead to disqualification • Judge may ask questions regarding any aspect of film • Any arguments will lead to negative markings • Formats: MPEG. • 2 CDS • Credits timing 2 mins • 3 per team and 2 films max in team

  8. Ad film: • Any product/service Ad film. • If product / brand / service Ads 30 sec maximum • If credits are there then 30 seconds + credits for PSA 50 seconds + credits • Elimination on the basis of entries • 3 per team 2 Ads / contingent

  9. Day 3: 14th January 2010 • RJ Event: • Talking is your passion? Unleash your skills here to make it your profession. • Topics will be given 10 mins before • 2 RJs should host the show on the particular topics/issues • 1 caller will call and speak related to true Topic • RJs are supposed to handle caller • 2 songs compulsory. Songs can be sung or can be played on mobile, I-pod etc. • Caller will be from audience • 2 participants per team • 3 teams per contingent • Exceeding 10 mins will lead to negative Marking.

  10. Dance : • Minimum 6, maximum 8 participants per team • 1 team per contingent if tires are less then extra team from the same contingent will be entertain • Entries should be given by 10th Jan 2010 • 2 CDS • CDS should be submitted by 12th Jan 2010 in Morning.

  11. Press conference: • Group discussion are a key to problem solving. Polish your skills join the panel. • 5 members per team • 1 team per contingent • Out of 5, 4 are PR practioners and the 5th is the reporter. • Topics will be given on the spot. • PR practioners are supposed to make the PR stratergy in 1 hour and next ½ hour give their campaign for judgement next 1 hour will be to present themselves in the conference. • Reporters are supposed to question other colleges during press conference.

  12. Awards & prizes: • 1) 1st, 30 female participants would get vouchers of free trail of 7 days from Mickey Mehta’s 360° Gym. • 2) 1st, 100 participants would get passes worth Rs 100/- each from the Loot. • 3) 1st, 300 participants would get passes from Essel World &/ or Water Kingdom on participating in the event & auditions of film. • 4) Every participant of the event gets 25% discount on the course of creative visualization from Manthan. • 5) Every participant would get a participation certificate.

  13. Rules & regulation: • 1) No harmful things like nail cutter, blades are allowed in the college premises. • 2) Deodorant, cigarettes are not allowed in the college premises. • 3) Identity card of the college is compulsory for the entry participation. • 4) Backing out from any event or seminar & substituting any participants will lead to negative marking. • 5) Registration on the day of event is compulsory and it will close half an hour before the respective event.

  14. 6) CL or ACL should take care of their own of registration during the respective events. • 7) Misbehavior with any volunteer will lead to negative marking or disqualification of the participant. • 8) Any complaint related to volunteers can be registered by the CL or ACL on the desk. • 9) Late entries will lead to negative marking. • 10) Any loss to college property is punishable offence.

  16. Film Launch & Auditions • Mr.Anirudh Chawla ex RJ of 91.1FM hosted a show called Anirudh L.L.B is launching a reality film with our college event. • It’s a film based on concepts like Sach ka Saamna & Big Boss. • Auditions take place on 3rd day i.e 14th January 2010, • 8 people from the short listed. • 1st winner gets 5 lakh rupees as cash prize, and other participants win prizes of 50 thousands each.
