  4. Working through the Pall Unnayan Seva Samiti voluntary organisation, which has been helping take children out of prostitution for the past 20 years, MIMN funded the building of a dormitory to provide accommodation, food, clothing and schooling for another 20 children on two-tier bunks. Pall Unnayan Seva Samiti School now takes care of 400 abandoned and destitute youngsters.

  5. The funding of testing and screening 100 people with tuberculosis symptoms in Uganda, working with specialist UK-based charity Target Tuberculosis. MIMN funded the planting of more than 11,000 trees to provide sustainable income for 10 project communities in Mali, at a cost of just £4,000. The trees were planted in partnership with registered charity Tree Aid and managed and used by 516 beneficiaries, of which 453 are female entrepreneurs. The trees provide cash crops and when the project started the average income per group member was £1 a week, and by the end of the project it rose to £21. IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS WE HAVE FUNDED:

  6. £5000 to provide nutritious meals for 20,000 people at Christmas. Working with FareShare and the food industry to secure surplus food every year of high quality and within its use by date. This perfectly good food would otherwise be disposed of by environmentally unfriendly methods such as landfill. £3700 to purchase eight power poles, connection and electricity to power machinery at Apoolo Na Angor that has already been installed by MIMN’s partners, Tools for Self Reliance, and were run off a small generator for a few hours a day. This is a highly sustainable project providing long term, life-changing support via vocation training for young women from rural areas IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS WE HAVE FUNDED:

  7. “We are very grateful to you and MIMN for your contribution of ₤5,000 for building a shed for children activities and a students library. You will be glad to know that the shed in the village is ready and is looking beautiful. It is called 'New Creation'. It is being used regularly to organise various activities for about 400 children and their mothers. Your contribution has been a great help as now we can continue these activities even when there is hot sun or there are heavy rains, which we were unable to do earlier”.
