  1. Feedback from the Foundations For Farming Workshop

  2. Why we choose Foundations For Farming • Many of the Gogo Olive ladies have plots of land around their homes to grow crops to support themselves and their families. Most have had no training on how best to maintain their land and how to yield the best productivity for their crops. Alice & Mercy sitting outside their home. You can see some of their crops in the background.

  3. About Foundations For Farming Foundations for Farming is a conservation farming initiative that was started in Zimbabwe and is now being implemented all over the world with great success. It’s aim is to bring transformation to individuals, communities and nations through faithful and productive use of the land.

  4. Our Trainers • The workshop was lead by Oni and Wendy Mususa who did a great job of keeping the ladies engaged and passing on their knowledge, both practically and spiritually, from the years of experience they have with Foundations for Farming. We are very thankful to this wonderful couple!

  5. The Workshop We had 28 ladies attend the course, from Mutare, Marange and Chitungwiza, representing three of the projects we work with.

  6. In the morning the ladies were taught the theory behind the principles of Foundations for Farming and then the afternoon allowed them to put into practice what they had learnt!

  7. Not only was it an informative day but one were the ladies got to enjoy being together and building on their friendships. Above is Alice, Dorcas and Constance, 3 of the original 6 Gogo Olive ladies.

  8. Quote from Gertrude “We learnt how to clear our land. We do not burn the rubbish but use it for soil fertility and moisture. We were taught how to use holes to plant our maize. We discovered that through this type of farming, we will harvest more than other farming methods. I found the Foundations for Farming workshop helpful and interesting and I will use what I have been taught on my land.”

  9. Mazvita (Thank You) All at Gogo Olive would like to thank you for your generous donation which allowed us to run this workshop. We look forward to seeing how the Gogo Olives ladies use what they have learnt on their own plots of land.
