My Teaching Philosophy “Just as a flower which seems beautiful and has color but no perfume, so are the fruitless words of the man who speaks them but does them not”. • John Dewey I focus on making students do. I believe in experiencing what we talk about. Students can interpret different topics in their own way by having first-hand experience with them. Students will be able to have a connection to self which will allow knowledge to be constructed when it comes into contact with prior knowledge developed by their experiences.

  4. My Teachng Philosophy (cont) “Play is our brain's favorite way of learning”. - Diane Ackerman I strongly believe a student is challenged throughout interaction. Therefore, I like to have an active integral class, where the student can work in groups, relying on his peers and forming critical thinking. I feel students more engaged, and it gives them the time to think about what to say and not put the shy ones on the spot. Also, if they are having fun, the learning process get to them faster and they never forget it.

Writing Classroom “Technology in education should not be understood as using it as a tool to transfer instructional material and rehearsal but as a medium for learning, discovering, sharing and creating knowledge” (Kulkarni, 2012). Making a Descriptive essay. - Provides details about how something looks, feels, tastes, smells, makes one feel, or sounds.

  11. Descriptive Essay • Let’s make a Wordle • Like a Word Wall • Visual aid for students to have various ideas and synonyms • Helps with writer’s block • Pick a topic, any topic! • Print your Wordle in PDF and upload it on Twitter

Descriptive Essay • To do a wordle • Access http://www.wordle.net/create • In groups of 5, create a wordle from any topic: • Be creative (20 minimum, fiveheads are better than one) • P.S.: Would be nice to have one about MWWP to upload to the website. Up for the Challenge? (1 Group only) • Use the words from your Wordle to make a descriptive paragraph. • Use as many words as you want from the wordle or add a few more if you think its missing
