What is a grout ? • Grouts are those products that, when poured and cured, will set to produce a high strength, non shrink product taking the shape of the form in which it is poured. • Important characteristics of grouts are: • Flowability • High strength • Non shrinking in wide temperature range • Early strength achievement • Low creep

Advantages of cementitious grouts • Requires only addition of water • Coarse aggregates of 6mm down can be added to increase volume • Free flowing and hence can be poured to a depth of upto 1.5m or flows to a distance of about 3m. • Requires 2100 Kg per cu.m (without aggregates) and 1900Kg (with aggregates) • Moisture presence does not affect bonding. In fact, it is necessary to wet the surface before pouring

  4. Advantages of Epoxy grouts • Excellent early strength of 400 Kg/sq.cm in 24 hours • Excellent abrasion and wear resistance • Excellent chemical resistance • Easy to mix, place and finish • Does not require primer
