Portability and Portability Standards • Reusability of existing applications in new platforms or new technology systems • Check software specifications for portability attributes • Determine compatibility and commonality attributes of software programs • The basic question is • Can your existing eLearning software be transported to a new platform? 12

Portability and Portability Standards • Can we reinstall files onto another learning management system? • Can the files be used on a different processor system? • 32 bit vs. 64 bit, etc. • Some premium editions allow portability only • Portability testing from one computer to another is a basic requirement • Trial software can be used in most cases 13
