  1. Array Remote Access Solution ------ 8.4.3 Web Resource Mapping

  2. Improvements in 8.4.3 WRM • Completely redesigned client and server side rewrite engines based on industry leading parser library. • New, extensive QA test bench and regression suite. • Dynamic content type detection • Previously, content type detection was based only on HTTP headers and filename extension. • Script generated content, misconfigured servers, and files without any extension could cause WRM to detect the wrong type. • The improved content type detection examines the context in which a file is referenced (img, script, etc.) to better determine its content type. • More secure URL masking • URLs are scrambled based on user session specific random data. • Users cannot share links with each other. • Users cannot save and reuse bookmarks.

  3. Standards Compliance • Significant improvement in support for all web standards: • Web standards support: • HTML 4.01, partial HTML 5.0 • JavaScript 1.6 • CSS 1, CSS 2, partial CSS 3 • DOM 1, DOM 2, partial DOM 3 • XML 1.0, XML Namespaces • XSLT 1.0, XPath 1.0 • Web 2.0 support: • Microsoft ASP.NET AJAX • Google Web Toolkit • Yahoo! User Interface Library • JQuery, MochiKit • Still not well supported: VBScript, ActiveX, Flash.

  4. Application Specific Support • Certain web applications have been fully tested to ensure complete support: • Outlook Web Access 2000, 2003, 2007 • Lotus iNotes • Documentum • Emis, DG Info, other company internal applications • WRM will support most applications “out of the box”, but complex applications should be tested first.

  5. Custom Rewrite Improvements • Multiple CR rules can now be configured for a URL. • Support for wildcard characters * and ?. • Support for character ranges using [ ]. • Rules can be case insensitive using a new flags field. • rewrite custom rules <rewrite id> <pre | post> <url> <script> [flag]

  6. WRM Troubleshooting Tool • New troubleshooting tool for WRM. • Captures debugging information on a per virtual site, per user basis. • No more sorting through megabytes of packets from hundreds of users to find the one relevant trace. • Accessible from WebUI and CLI. • Global shell: debug trace wrmtthttp <vsite id> <username> • WebUI: Base system Troubleshooting tab.

  8. Coming Soon: Pass Through Mode • Pass through mode is a WRM-lite alternative to full WRM. • Minimal content rewrite to avoid WRM induced issues. • Works in port mode or hostname mode: • In port mode, all traffic on a port is sent to a specified backend server. • In hostname mode, all traffic for a host is sent to the backend server. • Limitations: • DNS support for hostnames • Port mode may conflict with firewalls • Cannot use URL Masking • Backend servers need to be configured manually
