  2. American Schools • In American schools children start at age 5 or 6 (kindergarten). • Kids in America end school at age 18 • The normal American school year lasts from the beginning of August to mid June.

  3. Costa Rican schools • All students start school at age six in Costa Rica. • Kids in Costa Rica attend college at age 15. • All schools in Costa Rica have uniforms for their students.

  4. American and Costa Rican schools • Takes education seriously. • Kids attend school around the same time. • Some schools in America make their kids wear uniforms like Costa Rica.

  5. American Foods • Pizza, hamburgers, and hot dogs are all American foods. • A popular dish in America is steak because it is very delicious. • Americans also like eating fruit and vegetables to get the nutrition we need.

  6. Costa Rican Foods • Rice and Beans are staples of Costa Ricans diet. • Casadao is a favorite dish in Costa Rica. • It is made of beans, rice, meat, cabbage, and plaintains which are like bananas.

  7. American and Costa Rican Foods • We both eat types of meat. • Americans and Costa Ricans eat fish too! • Also we both have favorite dishes.

  8. Americans way of play • Americans play video games on XBOX 360 and PS3. • Also we play board games like Monopoly. • A popular way of play is also sports.

  9. Costa Rica’s way of play • Futbol or soccer as Americans call it is a popular sport in Costa Rica. • Also they play other sports like basketball. • Costa Ricans can enjoy life without video game
