  2. 1) There are 746 boys in a school. The number of girls is twice the number of boys in the school. How many pupils are there altogether in the school ? 746 boys ? girls ? 2 746 x 1492 = 1492 + 746 2238 = There are 2238 pupils altogether in the school.

  3. 2) Mini-mart A sold 560 food hampers during Christmas. Mini-mart B sold thrice as many food hampers as Mini-mart A. How many more food hampers did Mini-mart B sell than Mini-mart A? 560 ? Mini-mart A Mini-mart B ? 560 x 3 1680 = 1680 - 560 1120 = Mini-mart B sold 1120 more food hampers than Mini-mart A.
