  1. What Have You Learn About Technologies From The Process Of Constructing This Product?

  2. I hadn’t had any previous knowledge of Photoshop so when I first came to use it I was completely confused by it all, but now I have a much better knowledge of Photoshop, although I only really know the basics, I feel like I've learnt a lot about Photoshop and what it can do through constructing this product. It’s the same with InDesign, I hadn’t even heard of it until we came to making this product, and although I only really know the basic actions with this programme, I've still learnt a lot that can help me do what I want to do. I thought that Wordpress was quite confusing because I frequently use Tumblr so I'm used to a different layout so when I came onto Wordpress, I was completely confused and I don’t think that I’d use Wordpress again (unless I have to) because of how difficult I found it to navigate around the website and upload my work onto my blog. I’ve used PowerPoint a lot before and I feel like I know a lot about how it works already and I haven’t really gained any extra knowledge about it by doing creating this product. I’ve had an interest in photography for a while but I've never really had an idea on how to take really good, proper photos (like using the rule of thirds), but now because of constructing this product, I've learnt a lot more about lighting and how to set out a picture and how to take a good photo. Before I did this project, I only thought you could save a document as a Word document but now I know how to save things as jpegs etc.

  3. Any Specific Things That You Found Tricky Or Easy? I found taking the photos hard because I thought it was hard trying to get the people I needed together at the same time. It was also quite hard trying to think of what I could write in my double page spread, I found it difficult to try and write something that would appeal to my audience. I also found it difficult to use Photoshop at first because I had never used it so I was clueless and everything seemed so confusing but I did have a lot of help off people who knew how to work Photoshop so now I do know the basics of Photoshop, I'm just a bit slow with it. I think that the only thing I found easy was thinking of the colours for my magazine, as my magazine is quite heavy rock, I thought that using dark, dull colours would be best. So because of this, I didn’t have to spend ages trying to find the perfect pinks and blues because I just used mostly greys and blacks.

  4. How Important Is Good Technology To The Magazine Industry In General? I think that good technology is really important in the magazine industry because if technology wasn’t used, then I think that most magazines would look quite plain and unprofessional, but because a lot of magazines don’t look like that, it draws people in because of the way they look and more people would want to buy the magazines because of the way that they look. Also, with good technology, the magazine industry are able to appeal to different kinds of people.

  5. What Tips Would I Give The Next AS Year? I’d tell them to plan everything before they actually did it, for example, plan what kind of font you’d like to use throughout your magazine because during my lessons, I spent ages trying to find the perfect font but if I had planned what I wanted before, then I would have just been able to find the font and not wasted so much time. I’d also tell them to do work out of lesson time because i found that i didn’t have enough time during my lessons to do everything so i had to do some work out of lesson time, but i did leave everything to the last minute so i had rushed quite a lot of my work, so leaving everything to the last minute isn’t a good thing to do either. Another thing to do would be to back up your work because you never know when the computer is going to crash unexpectedly and then all of your work is gone, or at least bring a memory stick and stick all of your work on that.
