Spatial Planning in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in general • Main goal: anticipatory and early co-ordination of uses • Based on Federal Spatial Planning Act (Raumordnungsgesetz) and Spatial Planning Act MV (Landesplanungsgesetz) • Guiding principle: sustainable spatial development – social and economic demands need to be consistent with ecological functions

  5. Kind of planning declaration/determination • Priority areas: reserved for a defined use, other conflicting uses are excluded • Reserve areas: defined use with priority in this area • Suitable areas: area is suitable for defined uses, which are excluded outside these designated areas
