Full citation • For each work a full citation is available, details include: • Section: The Section to which the item is assigned in the original Imperial War Museum catalogue • Heading: The Heading assigned in the original Imperial War Museum catalogue • Detail: Full title or description of the individual item • Date: The date on which the item was created, when recorded in the citation • Document Reference: The reference number the item is assigned in the Imperial War Museum

  12. Basic search • Perform a full text search across the entire collection • Searches the catalogue and the text of the document • View results and documents containing your words/phrases • Use InfoMarks to save search results and embed into other applications

  13. Advanced search • conduct a search using a variety of criteria: • Document Reference • Heading & Title • Section Heading • Full Text • Boolean searching to pinpoint specific results • Use fuzzy search depending on how closely you want to match your search terms

  14. Advanced search • Results will be more specific as a variety of search criteria have been used • Use words ‘near to’ other words • Search for specific types of document

  15. Features • Print and Email • Reformat the page for effective printing, or email the citation • Marked Items • Every document has a checkbox that allows you to ‘mark’ that document. Click the ‘marked items’ link to see a list of the citations. Print or email these citations as required • InfoMark • Save a URL to a set of search results and embed it into another document or application • Search History • From the Basic and Advanced search screens, view your previous searches. Click any pervious search to re-activate it • Search tips • View search tips and help pages specific to this database
