  3. TAMA 120 COURSE DESCRIPTION: • Industrial Applications of Algebraic Principles will focus on mastery of the basic algebraic principles as they relate to the industrial environment. Topics will include: symbols, positive and negative numbers, equations, exponents, roots, ratios and proportion, and most importantly, formula manipulation. Practical shop formulas will be used and shop problems will be solved. Application of Algebraic Principles

  4. TAMA 120 COURSE GOALS: 1. To provide the knowledge and skills to calculate algebraic mathematical shop problems. 2. To provide a foundation of skills and understandings of fundamentals, procedures, and calculations relative to algebraic mathematical shop problems. 3. Develop critical thinking and problem solving skills in solving algebraic mathematical problems encountered on the job floor. Application of Algebraic Principles

  5. TAMA 120 MEASURABLE COURSE OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: 1. The student should be able to identify and apply the common terms and symbols used in algebra. 2. The student should be able to solve practical application problems requiring the use of signed numbers. 3. The student should be able to apply the concept of the Cartesian Coordinate system. Application of Algebraic Principles

  6. TAMA 120 MEASURABLE COURSE OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: 4. The student should be able to solve practical shop application problems using equations. 5. The student should be able to apply the concepts of exponents in practical shop problems. 6. The student should be able to apply the concepts of root values in practical shop problems. 7. The student should be able to utilize algebraic formulas and equations in practical shop applications. 15. TAMA 120 COURSE ASSESSMENT: QUIZZES - The best 5 of 6 accounts for 75% of the semester grade. Make-ups on missed quizzes are at Instructor’s discretion. The lowest quiz score will be dropped. Any additional missed quizzes will be recorded as a 0 or zero. All in-class quizzes will be administered with closed books and no notes allowed and only during regularly scheduled class periods. ALL QUIZZES WILL COVER THE TWO PREVIOUS SESSIONS Application of Algebraic Principles

  16. TAMA 120 FINALEXAMINATION - The final examination will account for 25% of the semester grade. The final must be taken to pass the course. The Final will be administered with closed books and no notes allowed and only during regularly scheduled class periods. All students will be required to complete a comprehensive final examination that assesses the learning of all the course objectives. This exam is to be a common exam administered to all sections of TAMA-120 Application of Algebraic Principles
