  3. Getting Started • Placement for English and Math –SAT/ACT scores * • Computer Assessment (INFT) • 12 credit hours/semester = full time student (18 max) • Degree Completion Plan

  4. SAT/ACT Indicators • Math:SAT ACT less 450 18 Math100 450+ 19 Math 110 • Math 115 or higher must take and pass on-line assessment with minimum score 23 (part I) and 15 (part II) OR have a 500 or better on SAT; 20+ on ACT Math. • English:SAT ACT less 475 19 English 100* 475+ 20 English 101 * needs to take CLST 101 (College Learning Strategies) • Academic Opportunity Program available for those who score lower than SAT 460/ACT 17(Reading and English) and a high school GPA below a 2.75.

  5. Picking a Major • Over 56 Majors/46 Minors • Most majors are 120-123 hours • Career Direct Test: helps identify strengths and interests. • Talk to professional advisor and faculty in your area of interest.

A Few Planning Tips • GNED 101 required for all incoming students • FRSM 101 required - unless transferring in more than 12 credit hours not including dual enrollment credit. • CLST must be taken if required and cannot be dropped • Work from appropriate Degree Completion Plan • Foundational studies in first 45 hours for any major • Check for prerequisite and sequencing • Meet with a professional advisor during your first semester.

Where to go from here? • Career Center: Career Direct & Internships Opportunities The Career Direct is a faith-based vocational assessment test that will help identify personality, interests & strengths. This is an excellent resource for deciding a major or choosing a career path. • Career Direct – 11 AM to 4 PM today in ILRC 2176 (computer lab) & Tomorrow – 9 AM to 1 PM in ILRC 2176 • Career Direct Workshop – 3-3:30 today in Visitors Center and Tomorrow – 12-1 in Visitors Center • Seminar for Parents: 3:30-4pm TODAY “Dozen Tips for College Success” Visitor’s Center • Tomorrow: Transfer student workshop at 9:00 and 11:00 in the Visitor’s Center.

Transferring Credits to Liberty • Send your transcripts • Classes must have a grade of “C” or higher to transfer into LU • Course Equivalents carry Liberty course numbers (i.e. ENGL 101 or GOVT 220) • Elective credits are identified by course discipline code (i.e. BIBL) and “1XX” for 100 level elective credit, and “2XX” for 200 level elective credit and so on • LU Course Catalogue and VCCS Transfer Guide
