18. Analytical Reports • Definition: A written document describing the findings of some individual or group. Case Studies • Definition: The collection and presentation of detailed information about a particular participant, group, or organization, frequently including the accounts of subjects themselves. • Case studies are useful for encouraging discussion about best practices and problem-solving strategies. 4th UNPAN Training Workshop ASPA Presentation September 23, 2003

Analytical Reports vs. Case Studies • Case studies are focused on a specific organization/program and tell the story of that organization/program, possibly with an issue focus such as performance measurement. • Analytical reports are a broader category that could include case studies.
