ICEM CFDMeshes for Drag Prediction Workshop • Structured Multiblock Meshes for WB & WBNP configuration • Unstructured Tetra + Prism Meshes • Three unstructured meshes for each configuration based on size of the mesh • Prisms & Pyramids can be readily converted into tetras for solvers that can not handle prism & pyramid elements

Files • ICEM CFD files, Plot3D files and CGNS files are available • CGNS files are written by ICEM CFD CGNS translator using CGNS library version 2.1 • Plot3D files are written with Double precision, Formatted, no IBLANK array with ‘Whole’ data layout. • Contact senthan@icemcfd.com for different format of the mesh • Wing-body configuration mesh files contains “wb” in the name, Wing-Body-Nacelle-Pylon configuration mesh files contains “wbnp”

  3. Wing-BodyHex Mesh • C – Topology around the wing • Fine, Medium and Coarse grids are available • 4 Levels of Multigrid (level 0, 1, 2 & 3) – Coarse mesh has only 3 levels (level 0, 1 & 2) of Multigrid • Viscous Grid with Near wall Spacing = 0.001

  5. Wing-Body-Nacelle-PylonHex Mesh • C – Topology for Wing-Nacelle-Pylon region. • 4 Levels of Multigrid (level 0, 1, 2 & 3) for fine and medium meshes and 3 levels of multigrid (level 0, 1 & 2) for coarse configuration • Minimum number of blocks • Viscous Grid With Near Wall Spacing = 0.001

  7. Wing-BodyTetra Prism Mesh - Coarse • Total Number of Tetras – 1.2 million Prisms – 0.8 million Nodes – .62 million • 10 Layers of Prisms • First prism layer height from surface = 0.05mm • File name aiaa_wb_prism_2.0m*
