First Job – Rotation Engineer • Rotate through 3 business groups in first year after school • Logic design in desktop market, board design in mobile market, product marketing in network processors • Learn new skills, understand the business, ramp up quickly, grow your network • Highly recommended! Look for this program wherever you apply for job

  5. Latest Job – Engr Manager • A company-wide reorganization created a manager-shaped hole in my team • 2nd level manager asked 6pm Thurs • Quick self-assessment and consulting with colleagues • Took the job 12pm Fri • Always be ready, have a network of trusted friends, let people know what you want

  6. Outside of Work • Led volunteers in Women at Intel Network employee group • Started annual conference, clothing drive, external networking events • Very fulfilling experience, creates close bonds with the team, learned how to influence without authority • Don’t let “but it’s never been done before!” stop you!

  7. (Really) Outside of Work • Got married April 2005  • Helped mother fight against cancer 2006  • Take time off, take care of yourself and your family, don’t schedule your life around your work

  9. Resumes • Be ready to talk about any item • Be ready to back up any item • Spell check, grammar check, have multiple friends check for you

  10. Interviews • Talk through your thinking process • Listen to what your interviewer says to you! • Remember to breathe and keep your nerves in check • Show your personality!

  11. Internships / New Job • Show initiative to solve problems, results matter! • Make yourself useful • Learn how to prioritize
