  3. L.Schimmer Size • 3 db/ 3 fileserver local • 1 fileserver in germany (readonlycopys only) • Each fs SATA RAID5 1 to 2 TB • Right now 5 TB in use (with only 20 users) • New hardware arrived last week: • VMWare ESX server • iSCSI storage 30TB SATA

  4. L.Schimmer Client setup • Linux clients home in AFS space • Windows profiles in AFS space, started with whole profile in one volume, now switching to offline folder redirection • Obtaining ticket/tokens while login

  5. L.Schimmer problems • Max numbers of files/dir • Max 22 chars per volume name • Linux: login gdm/KDM • Windows: getting tokens sometimes takes time • User profiles slow • Some files not storeable (Skype dbb files e.g.) • Context menu blocks system on some users • Out of quota with redirected folder is a problem
