  2. What is Jack Daniel’s? Jack Daniel’s is a handcrafted, charcoal mellowed whiskey. Its distillery is located in Lynchburg Tennessee, and that is where is it kept while it ages. The aging process takes place in a handcrafted barrel; where the whiskey is left to mature for years on end. Jack Daniel’s comes from Lynchburg Tennessee, however, in the distillery’s early years the state of Tennessee went through a state of alcohol prohibition that took place before the national prohibition and continued after the 21st amendment repealed it. As a result of this, the distillery was moved to St. Louis and Birmingham but very little profit was turned due to a lack of good quality corn. But the current owner of the Jack Daniel’s Distillery at the time was a senator for the state of Tennessee and helped repeal the states prohibition laws, and production began once again in 1938 after a 28 year halt.

  4. Along with the tried and true Old No. 7 that we are all so accustomed to seeing, there are a few more names out in the Jack Daniel’s family. Gentlemen Jack receives an additional “blessing” which means that it goes through the charcoal mellowing process twice. Country Cocktails are refreshing malt beverages that come in different flavors, Lynchburg Lemonade, Ginger Splash, Down-home Punch, Jack’s Sweet Tea, and Black Jack Cola. Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel is kept in the deepest reaches of the Barrelhouse, where its dramatic changes in temperature cause it’s color and taste to deepen further.

  5. There are many legends about how the Old No. 7 label came to be. One is that Mr. Daniels had 7 girlfriends. Another is that his first shipment was sent out on the No. 7 train. Another simply saying that Mr. Daniel’s J’s looked like a seven. However the truth may never be known, Jack Daniel’s took that secret to the grave with him.
