Career Exploration • Go to the website – www.stats.bls.gov/oco • Find a career under “Computer and Information Technology” • Use PowerPoint to display the information about the career. • Record the information in compete sentences and in your own words! • The information displayed should include the following information (shown on the next slide):

  3. Career Information needed • Job Description (what they do) • Work Environment • Education/training/experience (How to become one) • Job Outlook • Expected growth and job prospects • Pay • median annual wage and High/Low • Similar Occupations (select 2) • Compare pay and job outlook

  4. Job search • Now, go to the site www.monster.com or www.careerbuilder.com • Search and find a job listing of the career you chose. • Search and compare 3 different job listings, each from a different state. • List the following: • Top 5 responsibilities • Required education and experience • Certifications required (if any) • Starting Salary

  5. Once completed • Save as Career Bytes in your folder under the “computer” folder. • Turn in electronically by saving to the drop folder under your name.
