1. Introducing … XQL - Excel Query Language How about an all-inclusive Excel spreadsheet, dynamic enough, to provide real-time visibility into data stored in any Baan database. It is very easy to use, so your non-technical customer can quickly create and extract data they need. It is also robust enough that your technical users can take advantage of features like table joining, field query criteria, and grouping functions. XQL uses Baan's OLE interface to provide connectivity to any Baan database! It can be used as an alternative or enhancement to any of the following products or processes: • Baan Easy-SQL • Baan Export Exchange Schemes • Baan Reports • Baan Query By Form • Printing Baan Table Definitions • 3rd Party Reporting and Query Products This application does require access to the BW (Baan Windows) client and authorization to the OLE Daemon

2. Robust Features XQL includes the following features: • Select the tables and fields you want to extract. • Select table company numbers (now with multi-company support!) • Define field query criteria (much like that provided by Baan's Query by Form). • Define a limit for the number of data rows to extract. • Define the displaying of column labels by field name or field description. • Define the displaying of enumerated fields by values or descriptions. • Define the displaying of text fields by text number or linked text. • Save / Export / Import Query Definitions. 3. Quick and Easy to Use There are only three steps necessary to define and download the data you want into the spreadsheet: • Input the Table, Table Linkage, and Company Number parameters. • Build and modify the table field definition from Baan's Data Dictionary by selecting the "Get Table Definition" button. • Select the "Get Baan Data" button to extract table data you want. 4. Step 1: You don’t need to know SQL to build queries! Just fill-in the following parameters on the”Definition “ worksheet and select a couple of buttons: A) Input Tables B) Define Table Linkages C) Define Default Company Number D) Select button “Build Table Worksheets” for Step 2 E) And select button “Get Baan Data” for Step 3 C B A D E This application does require access to the BW (Baan Windows) client and authorization to the OLE Daemon

5. Step 2: Build and modify the table field definition from Baan's Data Dictionary by selecting the "Get Table Definition" button. Selecting the “Get Table Definition” button extracts all the fields and their attributes from Baan’s Data Dictionary. Modify the fields you want extracted by “cutting” and “pasting” the fields in the field list. Some field query criteria! 6. Step 3: Select the "Get Baan Data" button to extract table data you want. The requested extracted data in the spreadsheet. This view includes field names in the header. 7. The spreadsheet also includes a list of all the enumerates used on the selected tables. It also includes the actual Baan SQL used in the query. This application does require access to the BW (Baan Windows) client and authorization to the OLE Daemon
