Apartheid!. What is apartheid?. After world war 2 apartheid happened from 1948 to 1994. Apartheid means separation between black and white people. Also black and white people were not allowed to be on the same side of a bus or allowed to use the same toilet. Hero's of apartheid.

  2. What is apartheid? • After world war 2 apartheid happened from 1948 to 1994. • Apartheid means separation between black and white people. • Also black and white people were not allowed to be on the same side of a bus or allowed to use the same toilet.

  3. Hero's of apartheid .Nelson Mandela fought for the rights of the black people. . Nelson Mandela fought for all rights the black people so he even went to jail for all the black people. The next slide is all about Nelson Mandela.

Nelson Mandela • Nelson Mandela joined the African national congress [ANC],that organised meetings, strikes and protests. • The white government knew that the ANC were planning to overthrow them so they declared that the ANC should stop. • But in spite of that they carried on. • In 1960 Nelson went to prison in a isolated island called robin island and he went into a cell it was 1.8m long. One day he saw a polices news paper and he took it but he got caught so he got punished. That's how he knew about people started saying free Mandela and protesting stop apartheid. • He was also forced to wear short trousers and do hard labour. • In 1990 he was finally released from prison. in 1994 all South Africans were allowed to vote and the ANC won the election so Nelson Mandela was elected president. • In 1993 he also was awarded the Nobel Piece Prize.
