The Acquisition: • Article “Facebook Snaps Up Instagram” • $1 billion dollar acquisition • No revenue has been made from the Instragram app. • Twitter expressed interest in buying app before Facebook’s massive bid • Zuckerberg plans to keep separate entity from Facebook “Facebook will be “keeping and building on Instagram’s strengths and features rather than just trying to integrate everything into Facebook.”

  3. Merger Cont. • Bid is equivalent to $700,000 per day since the launch of the app. • Many think that Instagram was purchased out of fear • Declining new membership • Unsatisfied users • Dislike of new features • ”Timeline”
