  2. On p. 25, write two good things that have happened to you since last Friday.

  3. Write the answer to #1 on p. 25.Then turn to p. 26.

  4. ReframingTaking a negative thought or event, finding a new perspective in how to deal with it, and moving forward.

  5. We have been looking at self-concept and self-confidence. These are both things that we have the power to change. We are responsible for our thoughts about ourselves.

  6. Mrs. Loafman is responsible for what she chooses to think about herself…just as YOU are responsible for what you choose to think about yourself.

  7. Do you know who Babe Ruth was? A great baseball player, but he struck out 1,330 times in his career. That was a major league record of strike-outs at that time. Some might have made fun of him for having struck out so many time. Maybe he felt like a failure.

  8. If we use reframing and change the perspective on his strike-outs, Babe Ruth could have said, “Yes, that’s true, but I hit 714 home runs! How many did you hit?”

  10. Reread what you wrote for #1 on p. 25.then, turn to p. 26 and “REFRAME” it. Complete #2 on p. 26.

  11. Can you think of everyday put-downs that a 7th grader night receive that could be REFRAMED? Discuss how.Bad hair day, new clothes, new shoes…
