Organisation and Monitoring • A MICE UK Project Manager, Alan Grant of DL, was appointed earlier this year • He is accountable for delivery of UK work-packages – See Paul’s slides • Chairs weekly Cost and Schedule meeting (among many other things) • Mary Elizabeth Shewry is secretary and organiser of raw cost data • At that meeting, each WP manager: • Compares and explains planned and actual spend • Describes progress against milestones • Provides a brief technical update

  4. Optimal MICE Top-level schedule • Mapped onto the International Project requirements • Steps V & VI are critically subject to international deliverables

  6. By delaying the implementation of the UK project, it is possible to achieve a • flat profile for four years • But: • This leads to a higher overall cost • Is not necessarily acceptable to the international project • Would have a negative effect on staff/skill retention and motivation
