Title: the verbs ‘to have’ and ‘to be.’


Do you remember why these words have an apostrophe in them?

It is because they have been shortened by leaving out a letter. In these examples

it is the letter O.

Write this sentence into your books, putting in the apostrophes:

He couldnt go to school because his mother wouldnt drive him and his father

didnt have a car.

She has gone to the shops because she is hungry.
