  1. Asbestos is still a threat to people – Asbestos Awareness Course

  2. Asbestos is mainly contained six minerals that occur naturally in the environment as bundles of fibers that can be grouped into thin, strong threads which are used for commercial and industrial purposes. These fibers are repellent to heat, fire, and chemicals and do not transfer electricity. Because of these reasons, asbestos has been used widely in many industries. Also, asbestos minerals are found in the natural environment, including erionite. Even a single amount of asbestos exposure and consumption is considered unsafe and dangerous. Any products that contain greater than at least one percent of asbestos minerals are considered to be asbestos-containing materials. The more asbestos that is exposed to, the more likely you are to get an asbestos-related disease. Asbestosis and lung cancer are dose-related diseases. Any materials which contain asbestos have to be treated carefully and if they are disturbed or damaged, fibers are released into the air. These fibers can be inhaled easily and they can cause very dangerous diseases. These diseases will not attack the victims immediately; they often take a long time to develop. Once the presence of asbestos in the body diagnosed, it is often too late to do anything. This is why it is important that everyone who handles or disturbs the asbestos on a regular basis have to take proper training. The legal responsibility for taking Asbestos Training? The present Regulations place a legal responsibility on all employers and companies to give full information, instruction and training to all their employees who may be subject to come into contact with asbestos-containing materials in the workplace. An asbestos awareness training can help a candidate to avoid unexpected hazards. There are three main types of information, instruction and training on asbestos are: ● Asbestos awareness training ● Training for non-licensable asbestos work ● Training for licensable asbestos work Not only should all employees operating with asbestos take initial asbestos training but it is also greatly important that they take refresher training every year. Taking refresher training will assure you are up to date and can protect and secure yourself and those around you. Things You Need to Know About Asbestos before dealing with asbestos 1. Many products still professionally contain asbestos. 2. Asbestos becomes hazardous only when it is disturbed, damaged and the fibers become airborne. 3. It could take decades before you notice symptoms correlated to asbestos exposure. asbestosawareness.training +44 20 3579 7542

  3. 4. Asbestos fibers settle in the lungs once they are inhaled or ingested. 5. Asbestos is still dug and transported in other countries. If you are a business, waiting to get trained up or a renovator requiring to know what to look for in a builder or a trade then here are some fundamental tips in the types of asbestos and which training will help you to avoid asbestos hazards: ● There are two types of removal license ● A Class A license allows you to remove brittle and bonded asbestos along with asbestos-contaminated debris or dust. ● A Class B license allows you to remove non-friable or bonded asbestos, like fibro sheets Asbestos Awareness course helps workers to understand the risks associated with the material so that they can avoid work that may disturb asbestos. This course gives a general introduction to the dangers of working with asbestos and supports employers to comply with the law by guaranteeing that their workers are properly trained in order to work safely. asbestosawareness.training +44 20 3579 7542
