History • Pays de la Loire was created in 52 BC. • By Romans after the Cenomanni and Carnute tribes were displaced. • It has an area of 32,082 km2 (12,387 mi2) • It has a population of 3,222,061 (1999); • the capital is Nantes. • Loire river is the longest river in France, it is 630 miles long.

  3. Famous cities and villages • Amboise has lots of history with political and artistic importance within Europe in the Renaissance period. • Angers is famous for its big castles. • Tours is the region's largest and most commercial city, much of the city was bombed in World War II, its pretty historic district remains. • This is a picture of Amboise.

  4. Tourist attraction • Vendée is a popular destination for tourists, with over 200km (125 miles) of sandy beaches and two offshore islands. • Main et Loire is known as the valley of the kings because of it’s royal past, it has about2.3 million tourists a year!

  5. Food • With the sea and many lakes and rivers, fish are a big part in the dishes. • Cheeses are also important in Pays de la Loire. • Some of the best seafood to try is the Scallops and Mussels
