  2. Student Information Services Four Parts to the S.I.S. System • Administrative Package • Attendance Package • Grading Package • Internet Package

  3. Administrative Package • State Funding Allocation • State Reporting Requirements • Student Tracking • Teacher Accountability

  4. Attendance Package • Teachers Will Put Attendance Directly into the Computer Each Hour. • Office will excuse absences. • Students Will Appear Excused Or Not Excused In The Teachers Classes Automatically. • School Sponsored Activities Will Be Posted In Your Classes Automatically.

  5. Grading Package • This Is Not Grade2 • We Will Not Be Using Grade2 • We Will Survive • We Must Survive • Did We Mention that SIS was Free!!! • There are advantages to SIS • When We Find The Advantages Over Grade2, We Will Let You Know!!!

  6. Internet Package • Teachers Can Input Grades From Home. • Parents Can See If Their Student Is In Class Or Not. • Gives Parents And Students Real Time Access To The Student’s Grades And Missing Assignments.

  7. HOW TO LOG INTO S.I.S. • Log into your computer using your Novell Network Login. Examples Lron or Hruth • Choose the SIS2000+ Icon Located on the Desktop

  8. Select Payson Middle From List

  9. Type First Four Letters of your Last Name

  10. Example

  11. A List Will Pop Up For You To Select Your Name From Notice ID Numbers Then Click On The Select Button

  12. This Is What Will Appear When You Click On The Select Button

  13. Now Input Your Password And Click On Login

  14. If You See This Screen Success Is Yours

  15. Check System Date

  16. The Program Relies Exclusively On The System Date for Everything!!

  17. Click on Date and Highlight Set System Date

  18. This Is The Screen Where You Will Set The System Date

  19. Here Are Button Definitions Back One Month Forward One Month Back One Year Forward One Year Don’t Forget To Click on Select When you are Done

  20. IF You Were Successful At Changing The Date, Your System Date Should Be

  21. Click on The Attendance Button

  22. Attendance Package • How To Take Attendance. • What codes the teacher will use. • District Sponsored Attendance Grade.

  23. How To Take Attendance Click on The Class Entry Button

  24. Classes Are Listed On The Left

  25. You Need To Highlight The Class You Need And Select Edit

  26. Make Sure To Check The System Date

  27. Attendance Codes Are In The Center

Attendance Code Definitions • Attendance Taken • Use This Button If All Students Are Present • Present • Use This To Change an Individual Student’s Attendance From Late • Unexcused Absent • Self Explanatory • Tardy • Use This If A Student Is 10 Min or Less Late. • Late Tardy • Use This If A Student Is More Than Ten Minutes Late.

  29. Click Appropriate Attendance Code Then Click on The Student’s Name

  30. Each Code Has A different Color!! Click Save When You Are Done

  31. Click Quit When You Are Finished With Attendance And This Menu will Appear You Are Now Ready to Setup The Grade Book

Grade Book Setup • In Order To Do Grade Book Setup, You Will Need The Following • A List of Classes You Will Be Teaching • Grade Point Breakdowns for your Classes • Examples: A = 95, A- = 90 • Grading Categories That You Use • Examples: Tests, Assignments, Attendance, • Assignments If You Already Have Some Planned

  34. Click On The Grade Book Button Always Check your System Date

  35. This Is The Initial Grade Book Screen Notice That There are only 2 Black Buttons

Grade Book Subject Setup Definitions • Subject • (Each Class Must Have 2 Subjects) • Academic Grade • Citizenship Grade* • Category • ( Each Subject must Have at Least 1 Category) • Tests, Assignments, Attendance, Citizenship* • Weight ( Total must = 100 ) • Weight of each Category • Example Tests = 50 Assignments = 30 Attend. = 20

  38. Select The 1st Class You Teach *Notice Red Circle Areas Are Blank Click On The Subject Button

  39. You Must Click On The Add Button First

  40. You Need To Type in Academic Scores Here Select Percentage Method

  41. Mark Set = Grade Point Breakdowns Select Blanks Count as Zeros or Not

  42. This Finishes Academic Scores Subject Choose Save

  43. Citizenship Subject Setup Is Now Required You Must Click On The Add Button Again

  44. Setup is Just Like Academic Grade except Set Marks When You Finish Click Save, Then Quit

  45. You Should See The Following Screen Notice There are 2 Subjects in the Subject Screen

  46. Now You Will Choose Category At The Bottom Of The Screen Make Sure Academic Grade is Gray!!

  47. Category Setup For Academic Grades Make Sure Subject is Academic Grade Click Add, Input Your Category Name And Weight, Then Click Save. Repeat Until You Have All Categories Defined Total Must equal 100% Then Click Quit

  48. Task Menu Click The Add Button To Add A Grade

  49. Rules For Adding A Grade • Make Sure That You Have The Correct Subject Selected. • Make Sure You Have The Right Category Selected. • Make Sure That You Set The Due Date!!! • Make Both Long And Short Task Descriptions Clear.
