  3. Floppy Disk • It is also called diskette • It was created by Alan Shugart of IMB in 1967 • Most computers don’t even have a floppy disk driver • Used to be the standard method of backing up and moving data for 30 years

  4. Pros and Cons • No real major pro • Low storage • Low life span • bigger

  5. CD Rom • It stands for Disk Read Only Memory • Used for storing graphics, text, and audio • It has 2 sectors • Mode 1: 2,048 bytes • Mode 2: 2,336 bytes

  6. Pros and Cons • Portable easy to store and carry • Inexpensive • It has a life span of 5 to 10 years • Easily ruined if handled incorrectly

  7. DVD Rom • It stands for Digital versatile disc, read only memory • Some Data is already on the DVD Rom when the consumer purchases it

  8. Pros and Cons • Helps share large amounts of data • Inability to erase and change saved data • You can purchase a rewriteable DVD ROM but they are more expensive

  9. Flash Drive • It is one of the most used removable storage • It was mainly created to replace floppy Disks • Holds lots of data for a small device

  10. Pros and Cons • Small • Non-volatile • Hot swappable • You can edit • Lots of data can be saved on it • Not any major
