  4. INFORMEST FRIULI-VENEZIA GIULIA 12-13 DECEMBER 2003 ORIGINS • 1962 – as Canning Industry Research Association(AICV) at the Organic Chemistry Dept., Univ. Murcia. • 1969 - moved to the Edaphology and Biology Centre (CEBAS), a member of the Spanish Research Council of Science (CSIC) of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Education. • 1997 – National Technological Centre for the Canning and Food Industry(CTC) • opened in Molina de Segura, Murcia (“the cradle of the Spanish canning industry”) • latest technology • supported by the Instituto de Fomento (INFO) of the Region of Murcia (regional development agency), member companies fees, analyses fees & funded R+D projects. • 1999 – registered as CIT (Technology & Innovation Centre) and OTRI (Technology Transfer Centre) by the CICYT (Science & Technol. Commission - Spanish Ministry of Science and Education)
