Mathematics • CCSS base lessons are being delivered effectively, meaningfully, and consistently in each and every classroom  • High DOK activities and assessments  • Innovative and interactive ideas  • Adherence to a a scope and sequence that presents many challenges  • Extreme amounts of collaboration and sharing are leading to innovative teaching practices and new learning for students 

  5. Mathematics Continued • enVision series and embedded PD • Problem solving aligned to CCSS and Scope and Sequence. • SORICO Curriculum Based Measures  • Starting to focus on Standards for Mathematical Practice 

ELA • Effective incorporation of informational texts without a loss of important narrative elements at all grade levels  • Effective use of high level comprehension strategies, accountable talk  • Diversity in the use of projects based learning…depth to so many things  • Shift to increase small group work 

  7. Skills Blocks • Happening consistently at each grade level  • Allows targeted instruction and flexible groupings  • Exploits teacher strengths (skill, level match, etc.)  • Students get exposed to more diversity in teaching styles 

PBISPositive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive systems approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture and needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional, and academic success. • Formal rollout delayed until September 2013 • Data based system of positive rewards • Structured social programming • “ODR” and “Think Sheet” • Team has been working hard, testing & tweaking program elements.
