  1. Product Creation “I guess I've got to keep creating or I'll just die.” ― Jarrod - "Eagle vs. Shark"

  2. The G+ Sessions • This will be a complete Online Marketing course (More than SEO) • 12 months • Last Monday of each month, • Pub session may compliment this • All content will be available on YouTube afterwards (public) • Our goal is to help you to make money online • Very practical, and hands on – homework is optional but recommended • Not money making, we might package it up in the future, and we may include affiliate links, but overall outcome is to share and improve skills

  3. Review of where we are: • We have discussed Niches, and how to find one that works for you. • We covered off last month about keywords and how to find the most trafficked words • Now we are actually looking to find and create products which you can sell.

  4. Outcome: Outcome from today: Clear ideas of where and how to make product to sell online. • Finding • Creating • Outsourcing

  5. Jay’s criteria for a product • There has to be a profitable market for it • I have to be able to real-world test launch within 6-10 hours or <$1000 • It has to scale • It has to not suck time • It has to have no downside (eg I don’t want a product which has a large risk) • As much as possible, asymmetric relationship between time and profit.

  6. 3 types of products • 1. Physical (Books, CDs, Chairs, Beanie babies) • 2. Virtual (ebooks, programs, apps, plugins, APIs, SaaS) • 3. Service (Coaching, training, personal assistant etc)

  7. Understanding the Long Tail

  8. Pricing and sales • You need to understand the ratio between profit per sale and profit per month. • Eg pricing low, and having high turnover, can = more cash • Also pricing high can have low turnover can also = more cash • Beware of time input vs. ongoing profit

  9. How to create a book • Setup a blog (book: How to blog a book), and write daily • Get a Ghost writer (Odesk, Elance, Iwriter) • Transcription (Odesk, Fiverr, Shameless plug: YourRobotButler) • Block off time, and fricken write the darn thing. (3-4 days to get out most of a book) • Commit to 1 page per day (OK to make “Shitty First Draft”). • Share it with friends, get honest feedback. • Also Private label rights (PLR) / Public domain content

  10. How to sell a book • We will cover book and product launches later. • Formatting is important (raw text, with careful formatting) • Ebook: Warrior Forums, Amazon, Sony, iBook • Traditional book publishers, etc • POD, Self publishing lists, (7 Self publishers) – I use Smashwords, Lulu and Amazon • Some people I would go to regarding publishing: Andrew Crisp and Jonathan Gunson

  11. Coaching and Member • Coaching: You can setup a booking service (tungle.me, timetrade, etc) for Skype coaching (I recommend selling an ongoing coaching program), remember you don’t have to be the expert coach, you can hire in other coaches / experts – find people online (Odesk / Elance, or Trademe / Gumtree / Seek). • Course platforms: Moodle.com (education software), Udemy, Coursera, Udacity • Membership plugins: • http://chrislema.com/comparing-wordpress-membership-plugins/ • http://www.wpbestof.com/the-10-best-wordpress-membership-plugins/ (MemberWing)

  12. Affiliate programs • Clickbank.com https://accounts.clickbank.com/marketplace.htm • Commission Junction www.cj.com • Maxbounty.com www.maxbounty.com • NZ and Aussie – www.dgmperformance.com.au • Neverblueads.com www.neverblueads.com • Amazon.com www.amazon.com Which products pay how much, and you can then see which to pursue.

  13. Physical Products • Alibaba.com • “Wholesale” or “Dropshipping” • Reselling - Retail • Amazon as the dropshipper and can affiliate • Ebay and Trademe (Wholesale lots) • Shopify
