PLC Meeting Structure • Each of the 8 District PLCs will be implementation focused, with the goal of providing opportunities for teachers to practice new skills, collaboratively analyze evidence, reflect upon the implications and determine next steps. • PLC sessions will be held in DMPS classrooms and will be facilitated by grade level teachers and instructional support staff. • Each meeting will include the following 4 components: Connect, Learn, Manage and Close. This predictable structure will support a FOCUS on classroom implementation of Blended Learning and the Go Math! materials.

  30. What we need from building leaders… • Ensure all staff members register for the appropriate PLC between Aug 13 – Sept 2 • Communicate the expectation for attendance and address recurring attendance issues • Ensure teachers know the purpose of the meetings and the role of the facilitator • Individually address professional conduct issues

  41. Overview of the DMPS Implementation Plan HandoutDMPS & ELI Questions

  42. Preparing to Train Staff • Updated PowerPoint – Approx. 90 min. • There is a 24 hour turnaround from when an A & A account is created to when Iowa Tier is available for that individual. • Certifications for fall assessments cannot occur until teachers have access to their own Iowa Tier account. • The training site can be utilized for teacher training and practice for certifications.

  43. Problem Solving

  44. Support Tickets • The Dept. of Education has set up a “Support Ticket” system for the reporting of issues within Iowa Tier. • While we are getting started with this system, please first communicate all issues with Liz Griesel. • She may then ask an internal coach to complete a support ticket if the issue is specific to a building. • If the issue is wide-spread across the district, Liz will submit a support ticket. It will be important for us to document and communicate any issues within the Iowa Tier System.

  45. Interested in administering additional FAST assessments? • The fall testing window is open from August 28th to September 22nd. • If all K-1 testing is completed early within this window, buildings may choose to administer additional assessments. Please note the following: • All of your staff will be added to the Iowa Tier system via IC • Student testing materials have been purchased for K-6 • District provided support materials are only available for K-1 • State provided training materials are available for K-6
