  1. Doc#_4to7UP This is a brief overview guide for help in planning the upgrade of an existing iCAM4 to the iCAM7 series iris recognition cameras. The new iCAM7000 series iris recognition cameras offer far more features and do not require the use of the ICU (Identity Control Units) / ICU4000-W that require separate power, maintenance and support. (The IrisAccess4000 series was end of life in 2011) The official install documents should be reviewed prior to installing the equipment. Conversion of existing system using iCAM4000 and ICU4000 may require some wiring changes. The iCAM7 series outputs wiegand and relay from the iCAM directly where the iCAM4 series output wiegand either from the iCAM4 or from the ICU4000-W. Some wiring of the iCAM4 series depending on specific site and choice was done from The ICU4000W and may need to be wired or connected from the iCAM7 at the door. (All wiring for the new iCAM7 series models will originate from the iCAM7 and does not require the DCU4000 or ICU4000. However, there available for some projects a 1:1 Solution using an ICU7000 that can support 1 iCAM7 series iCAM.) Doc#_EQUP1

  3. ICU4000W and possibly an DCU4000 (less likely) could be supporting iCAM4 series units. These are not required for iCAM7 series. ICU4000 Blue to DCU4000 Photos are examples only. Actual wiring and colors of wiring may vary on sites. Some may use different GPI/GPO to connect relays/REX . DCU4000 Black to network switch DCU4000 ICU4000 Doc#_EQUP1
