  • Introduction to WiMAX

    • IEEE 802.16-2004 standard for fixed broadband wireless access (FBWA)

    • 256-carrier OFDM; bandwidths 1.25 to 20 MHz; carrier frequencies up to 11 GHz

    • High data rates with wireless metropolitan area coverage

    • Deployed in TDD, FDD, or H-FDD configurations

    • Base Stations (BS) and Subscriber Stations (SS) in PMP configuration

    • TDD : BS and SS transmit at the same carrier frequency but at different time
