  2. Basics • Subject – English and Science • Grade: Second • Topic – Caterpillars and Vocabulary

  3. Original Outline • Read book as a class • Draw 1 thing they learned • Kids read book on their own • Then filled out a scaffold outline • Had students discuss what the story was about

  4. Updated Outline • Read ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ as a class • Students write down words they may not have understood and then search them and use an online flashcard site to better understand them • Using online story program, have students create a scene of what they learned • Have the students create an outline of what events happened in the story • Have students blog about any questions or problems that might have had with understanding the story • Students write responses and reply to each other.
