Current Training grant (D43 TW008302, 08/09-07/14) • Training grounded in complementary empirical research • Complementary skills of training faculty and available resources • Increase our impact • Achieve economy of scale. • Doctoral program (n = 6 students, 3-4 years each). • PhD from participating training institution in India / Egypt • Rigorous research thesis • Structured training in research ethics and ‘survival’ skills, • Opportunities for cross-fertilized training at partner sites. • Local mentor, a US mentor and additional mentors as needed • Training at Pittsburgh for trainees and local mentors
