Bellwork Dec. 5-6 • Answer these questions in your bellwork notebook: (you do not have to copy the question) • What patterns do you notice about the verb endings of principal parts for 1st conjugation? • What is the first principal part used for? • What is the second principal part used for? What is it called? How do you translate it? • Which principal part do you use to create present and future tenses? • Which principal part do you use to for the imperatives? • Give the imperative forms (sing and pl) of any 1st conjugation verb of your choice.

  2. Verbs! • List all 4 principal parts of the verb that means “to increase” • augeo, augēre, auxi, auctus • Which principal part do you use to form the present tense? • 2nd principal part! augēre the infinitive! • Give all 6 forms of this verb in present tense AND translate each form!

  3. More Verbs! (wootwoot) • List all four principal parts (again) of the verb that means “ to increase” • augeo, augēre, auxi, auctus • Which principal part do you use to form the future tense? • 2nd principal part! augēre the infinitive! • Give all 6 forms of this verb in future tense AND translate each form!

  4. And the imperatives… • List all four principal parts (again) of the verb that means “ to increase” • augeo, augēre, auxi, auctus • Which principal part do you use to form the imperatives? • 2nd principal part! augēre the infinitive! • Give the singular and plural imperative forms! • auge! and augete! INCREASE!

  5. Translate these forms into English! • augebimus • augeo • augebunt • auges • augent • augere • augete

  6. Exit Check! • List the 2nd principal part of the verb “to increase” Translate these forms into English: 2. augetis 3. augebo 4. auge
