  6. Order AP Exams by March 28 • (April 18 is FINAL DEADLINE) • Schedule a Preadministration Session • Secure your proctors/administrators • Need a 1:34 Proctor/Student ratio • Designate someone to be the instruction reader for each exam. • Make sure proctors avoid conflicts of interest • EX: English teachers cannot proctor English exams, etc. • EX: Family members should not proctor exams where family members are testing.

  7. Secure your exam site • Make sure the room(s) are properly equipped: • No round tables • All tables/desks facing the same direction • Proper spacing (see AP Coordinator’s Manual for more details) • Make sure the room(s) are free from noisy distractions: • Students going to lockers • Bells or intercom announcements

  8. Security Issues that need attention: • Store AP Exams in a secure location – no unauthorized access by students or teachers • No cell phones/electronic devices allowed in the testing room – this includes proctors! • Impress upon students and teachers to refrain from discussing exam items • Avoid conflicts of interest

  9. Exam Fees • A+ College Ready reimburses $45 per exam for math, science, and English. • The state of Alabama applies each year for a federal grant to cover the cost for low-income students. • Federal grant covers up to $20 for low-income students in all subjects • The state will kick in $10 for low-income students, making their cost for any exam $10. • Low-income students in A+ College Ready program schools will not incur a charge for math, science, & English exams.
