  1. Why the Saree business shouldn’t be worried about GST What would be the tax bracket and classification of Sarees? Would Sarees be treated as made up apparel and GST be charged on it at 12% ? A saree is nothing but a 6 yard piece of Fabric that is worn as a garment in India. Keeping this characteristic in mind, saree should fall under the purview of fabric in India and NOT apparel and therefore attract a 5% GST rate on it. This video is made before the fine print of 15th GST council meeting was available and opinion expressed is solely on basis on the press release.
