  2. The 7.05 user interface has been improved. The icons associated with the different Work Windows have been updated. 7.05 also uses the system default font, therefore, if you are running on a newer system such as Vista, the appearance should be more pleasing. User Interface 7.05 User Interface

  4. Help Drop-down Menu Troubleshooting Guides • Select Troubleshooting Guides from the Help drop-down menu. From here you can display a manual in one of two ways: • Highlight the preferred manual and click on selecting View. Or • Simply double clicking the appropriate manual. NOTE: The Aftertreatment Technicians Guide has been combined with the EPA07 and EPA10 Troubleshooting Guides.

Help Drop-down Menu References to DDC Websites and EPA07/10 A&I Manuals • The user can connect to the websites identified below via the tool (even while in a log file). • Go to the Help drop-down menu, select References. • The user will see the selections for: • PSL • eParts Catalog • Detroit Diesel • DDCSN • And the EPA07/EPA10 A&I Manuals

  6. Help Drop-down Menu References continued • The user must have an internet connection to access these various websites. When you make your selection, the default web browser will open (logon IDs and passwords will be needed for PSL, eParts, Detroit Diesel, and DDCSN). Web browser opens DDCSN, PSL, eParts, Detroit Diesel A&I Manuals open in a PDF

  8. Parameters Auto RPM Elevate - Warning Message (EPA07,EPA10) • A warning message will be displayed when: • changing the Extended Idle Auto RPM Elevate parameter and clicking send • importing a MCM/ACM2 parameter file that has the parameter enabled and clicking send NOTE: This is an EPA07 unit, auto elevate resides in the ACM2 for 2010 units

  9. Service Routines EPA07 Voltages • The sensor names are now displayed on the panel. (This screen will vary depending on the engine connected to). • Old Name  A28 (Pin 108) - T_ENGINE_OIL • New Name  Engine Oil Temp (Pin 108)

  10. Service Routines 2010 Support – SCR Voltages • The SCR Voltages panel will read the voltages pertaining to the SCR system. (DPF voltages are not in the ACM2 software yet, so they are not shown below). • The voltages are displayed without any user interaction and can be viewed in the Chart format.

  11. Service Routines Idle Speed Balance – EPA 07 & EPA 10 • New fuel and coolant temperature conditions have been added to the Idle Speed Balance test. • The message below will be displayed if the temperatures are not within range.

  12. Service Routines Idle Speed Balance – EPA 07 & EPA 10 continued • Important Note: After clicking , the cylinder values should begin to update. • Once the system is satisfied, the values will stop changing. If the system does not need to update, the values could stay at 0 or move slightly.

  13. Service Routines DPF System – EPA 10 • The Request Driving Regeneration option is not yet functional for 2010. Therefore, the Start button will be grayed out.

  14. Service Routines 2010 Support – SCR System • The SCR System panel is located in the Service Routines work window.

  15. Service Routines 2010 Support – Perform Parked SCR Efficiency Test • This feature will be supported with the next ECU 7.5/8.5 software release (April). Current troubleshooting procedures do not call for the use of this test. • Total test time = 10 minutes (Similar to EPA 07 HIR) • This check validates SCR system integrity from engine warm up through NOx efficiency. • If the test aborts at any point, a description of where the test failed in the cycle is given in the Progress box.

  16. Service Routines 2010 Support – Perform Output Component Test • NOTE: The test will only run once per ignition cycle. If the test needs to be run more than once, the ignition must be cycled between tests. • The test is performed at KOEO (key on, engine off). • SCR heaters, Air Valve, Coolant Valve, Intake Throttle Valve, Fuel Cutoff Valve, and HC Doser are commanded ON for a brief period. • The routine is used as a sanity check for SCR Controls. • Individual fault codes will be set during the test if a component fails. • To run the test: • Select Perform Output Component Test from the SCR panel drop-down list • Select Start • You can view the instruments in the chart menu to ensure the instruments are turning ON as commanded.

  18. Service Routines DD13 and DD15 FIS Panels (EPA 2010 only) • There are three new panels in the Service Routines Work Window for the EPA 10 Fuel Injection System. • FIS Fuel Quantity Control Valve • FMU Stick Test • FMU Adaptation • FIS Leak Detection • FIS System Pressures

Service Routines FIS Fuel Quantity Control Valve - FMU Stick Test (EPA 2010 Only) • There are 4 condition requirements needed before the Start button is activated. • KOEO • Transmission in park or neutral and the parking brake is applied • Rail pressure below 10 bar-abs • Fuel temperature 68°F (20°C), Coolant temperature 68°F (20°C)

Service Routines FIS Fuel Quantity Control Valve - FMU Stick Test (EPA 2010 Only) continued • Once the entry conditions are met, click the Start button. • Click Yes on the Caution pop-up to continue with the test. • Another pop-up message will be displayed. Read the dialog box and follow the instructions. Click OK when you are ready to crank the engine. • NOTE: You should select OK before cranking the engine. • The results will be displayed once the test is complete.

  21. Service Routines FIS Fuel Quantity Control Valve - FMU Adaptation (EPA 2010 Only) • To retrieve or clear the Quantity Control Valve adaptive values, select FMU Adaptation from the FIS Fuel Quantity Control Valve panel. • The stored values should be reset after the Quantity Control Valve has been replaced. • Press Read to retrieve the Quantity Control Valve adaptation values. • Press Reset to clear the Quantity Control Valve adaptation values after the Quantity Control Valve has been replaced.

  22. Service Routines FIS Leak Detection (EPA 2010 Only) • FIS Leak Detection entry conditions (Rail Pressure Bleed Off, RPBO) • Coolant Temperature must be 50°F (10°C) • Fuel Temperature must be 50°F (10°C) • There will be a check mark when the test is available. Time Counter

Service Routines FIS Leak Detection (EPA 2010 Only) continued • The engine should be running at idle to perform this test. • Click Start Test to begin. • The rail pressure will ramp up until it is set to 900 bar-abs. Note: an error message will appear in the text box if the minimum rail pressure can not be achieved which indicates a leak. • Once the pressure is set to a steady state, the below pop-up will be displayed. • Read the instructions. Turn the ignition off and then back to the ON position. • The progress box will display the message: The Injector Leak Test has started. The test will finish when the rail pressure reaches 10 bar-abs. It will take about a minute. • The counter located under the Stop Test button will be running. 32seconds

Service Routines FIS Leak Detection (EPA 2010 Only) continued • When the test is complete, a message will be displayed in the progress box similar to : It took 1 minute, 25 seconds (will vary) for the rail pressure to release from 280 bar to 10 bar. Longer than 45 seconds indicates that there is no injector leak. The test passed. • If a leak is detected, a message will be displayed identifying that the test could not complete because the pressure dropped too fast.

  27. Actions Drop-down Menu EPA 07 and EPA 10 – Relative Compression Test • The panel name changed from Compression Test to Relative Compression Test • The functionality remains the same.

  28. Actions Drop-down Menu 2010 Support – DPF Ash Accumulator • NOTE: DDDL/DDRS both support this feature. The 2010 DPF Ash Accumulator functions relatively the same as the EPA 07 routine. • This service routine is used when: • Installing a cleaned or remanufactured filter, installing a new filter due to failure, or replacing an ACM. • This service routine synchronizes the ash accumulation distance between the CPC and the ACM and resets DOC/DPF temperature accumulators. • To carry out a DPF Ash Accumulator synchronization: • Choose DPF Ash Accumulator from the Actions menu • Select the reason for the Ash synchronization. • Enter the Aftertreament system serial number that is now installed on the vehicle. • Click on Set Ash Volume • The panel that is displayed will be based on a 1 Box™ or Two Box system. The tool will be able to read which Aftertreatment system is installed on the unit. This action will not be obvious to the user.

  29. Actions Drop-down Menu 2010 Support – DPF Ash Accumulator Two Box system has 1 DPF 1 Box system has 2 DPF’s NOTE: This is the DDRS View – DDDL will not have the ACM Replacement option. If the ACM mileage is reporting 0, you will also receive options to synchronize from the CPC2+ or manually input the mileage.

  30. DDDL View The DPF Ash Accumulator function is available in DDDL. The user is no longer required to contact the CSC to request a level II access code. The option for MCM replacement has been removed from this view because the technician is unable to reprogram with DDDL. This option is still available in DDRS.   31. DDRS view When MCM replacement is selected, there is no longer a need to input the DPF serial number. If the MCM mileage is reporting 0, you will also receive options to synchronize with the CPC or manually input the mileage. Actions Drop-down Menu DPF Ash Accumulator – EPA 07

Actions Drop-down Menu EPA 07 and EPA 10 – Set Engine Serial Number/Vehicle Identification Number (DDRS ONLY) • The Set ESN functions the same as it did in 7.04 • The Set VIN function is new to 7.05 and works for EPA 07 and EPA 10 units. • To use this feature: • Go to the Actions Drop-down menu and select Set Engine Serial Number/Vehicle Identification Number • Enter the VIN and/or ESN • Select SetVIN or SetESN appropriately to the function being performed.

  34. Actions Drop-down Menu 2010 Support – SCR – DEF Quantity Test • The DEF Quantity Test checks that the proper amount of DEF is delivered in a certain period of time. (DEF fluid should measure ≈ 44 - 59 mL • To run this test: • Go to the Actions drop-down menu, select SCR, then DEF Quantity Test DEF Air pressure should be ≈ 18-29 psi DEF Pressure should be ≈66-72 psi

Actions Drop-down Menu 2010 Support – SCR – SCR Air Pressure System Test • SCR Air Pressure System Test validates the DEF pressure and DEF Air Pressure are within specification. • 60 seconds is the maximum duration for running the test via this panel. • To run this test: • Go to the Actions drop-down menu and select SCR and then SCR Air Pressure System Check, Enter the time duration, Click Start. DEF Air pressure should be ≈ 18-29 psi DEF Pressure should be ≈66-72 psi

  36. Actions Drop-down Menu 2010 Support – SCR – SCR Replacement • SCR Replacement is used when the SCR/DOC is replaced. Serial Numbers for the new components are logged and the SCR temp accumulators are reset to reflect the new system. • To use this function: • Select SCR from the Actions drop down menu and then select SCR Replacement. • Enter the Serial number from the SCR unit now installed on the vehicle. • Click on Reset SCR Accumulators. • The panel displayed will be based on a 1 Box™ or Two Box system. The tool will be able to read which Aftertreatment system is installed on the unit. This action will not be obvious to the user.

Instrumentation Chart tab – Clearing Fault Codes • In the chart window, there is a new feature that has been added when clearing fault codes. • When fault codes are cleared in the fault code window, the chart tab will have a solid line identified with the word Cleared to define that point in the graph.

  39. Instrumentation Data Stream – EPA 2010 • The Data Stream tab is available in DDDL and DDRS. The information displayed is an abbreviated version of the Instrumentation List specific to government regulation.

  40. Program Device Charge/No Charge Screen Removal • Since the restructuring of the Master Reprogramming System, you are no longer assessed a charge for single reprogramming events but Uprate/Derate transactions will still be charged. • The user will select the MCM on the program device screen, select Change Dataset, and then select the appropriate row corresponding to the horsepower change you want. Click Next. The line item in Bold text is the current data set for the connected device. If you hover over the bold text, this message will be displayed.

  41. Program Device Charge/No Charge Screen Removal continued • After selecting Next, the Chargeable Event dialog box will be displayed. • The rating change is a chargeable event and the user will need to enter the Work Order or PO number in the field provided and click OK. Continue with programming as usual. See the example below: • An invoice will be mailed when chargeable transactions occur.
