What does this suggest about the Theory of Continental Drift and Plate Tectonics? • Examine the direction of the plates surrounding Chile; predict what is happening there. • Explain whether North Carolina is on a plat boundary or not. Explain. • Europe is a meter farther away from North America now than just fifty years ago. How can this be explain? • What evidence is there that the present-day continents were once a single land mass? • Why do the continental shapes no longer fit perfectly together? • How does the drifting of continents relate to the diversity of organisms around the world?
