  1. Homework project due in by: Media: Homework Project: Charity Adverts Extra tasks: If you want to then create your own charity portfolio:- • What charities have you supported in the past? • What charity events have you been involved in? • How much money have you raised for charity? • Are there any charities that you regularly support? (If so what are they, if not which ones might you consider?) • What in your opinion are the best activities for raising money for charity? • What key attributes / talents do you need to be a good fundraiser for a charity? • What is the next thing you are going to do for charity?

  2. Work your way through the following tasks:- Collect 3 examples of print adverts for different charities. Choose 1 of the 3 to analyse – highlight and label (in 3 different colours) all the different persuasive and emotive and informative elements of the advert. Choose a different 1 of the 3 to improve – pick out 3 aspects of this advert that you’d change and make it better – either by writing over it or writing about what you’d change. (N.B. Just make sure it is clear please – what it was and what and how you’ve improved it.) For the last of the 3 you need to storyboard your own t.v. advert for it, using the information given in the print advert. N.B. The storyboard should be 8-10 shots with captions to explain what is happening in each scene / shot. Try to include speech bubbles too to show what the viewer hears as well as sees. If you want to include information on sound, lighting etc… please do. • In a table … list 15 different charities and either draw or print out their logos and slogans. N.B. Try to get different types of charity – i.e. for humans, animals, the environment etc… • Pick the best slogan and write a paragraph to say why you think it is the best and what good language features it uses. N.B. Try to comment on persuasive or emotive language that has been used. • Next pick the best logo – why does it stand out more than all the others? Write a paragraph to explain your choice. N.B. Try to comment on the use of colour and specific image used.
