FUTURE WORK AND STRUCTURE OF THE COMMISSION-Doc 10 • CIMO XIII, 2002, established a working structure based on 3 OPAGS and 3 ETs per OPAG • OPAGS on UA, Surface and Capacity Building • The Management Group reviewed this in Bucharest, 2005 • Each OPAG had 2 or three co-chairs. • MG concluded the structure was responsive. • Need to endorse the MG proposal of a CIMO Coordinator for – GEOSS, DPM, Cross Programme and QMF • As climate is cross cutting, the MG recommends a Rapporteur on climate observations in the OPAG CB • Also Rapporteurs on CIMO Guide, Training and Regional implementation

Additional Rapporteur and Input from CIMO XIV • Doc 10 (2) Resolution 10/3 - Gender focal point from among Members with appropriate experience MG to select • CIMO XIV OPAG Reports emphasised need for improved cross programme/Commission coordination – Coordination Committee recommended MG Coordinator • Doc 10 Draft Text for inclusion - examine • Annex – TORs – examine in detail • Coordination Committee suggested additional experts to “shadow” main chairs of ETs – Vice-chairs

  7. Additional Input to structure and future work from TECO 2006 Roundtable and CIMO XIV • Additional intercomparisons • Funding for intercomparisons and RICs • Additional QMF input from CIMO • RIC technical support • OPAG chairs with additional oversight of specific ETs • Remote Sensing increased emphasis • Links of measurements to users (eg NWP)
